Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Appointments are required for all piercings and jewelry changes (this includes downsizes). To simply purchase jewelry, gift certificates, or aftercare products, no appointment is required and may be done during business hours. You can also book appointments for non-piercing services like downsizes, check-ups, consultations, and anatomy checks. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday 12-6pm, & appointments can be booked online.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept cash (preferred), most major credit & debit cards, as well as Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay, & Afterpay, as forms of payment.

Checks, Venmo, PayPal, and campus cards are not accepted.

Where are you located?

Wildflower is located inside of the Market Square building at 22 Depot Street in Potsdam New York. The easiest way to find the studio is to enter the double doors next to The Village Diner, & continue straight ahead down the hall. The studio is right next to the restrooms, on the left side.

Do you do tattoos?

Nope, I'm just a tattoo collector! 😉 Seriously though, I am a body piercer, not a tattoo artist. Facebook does not have a "Body Piercing Studio" choice for business categories, "Tattoo and Piercing Shop" is the closest category. Sorry for the confusion, but you can blame Facebook for that one.

Can I bring in my own jewelry?

If you already have a fully healed piercing, yes you may bring in your own jewelry and I can put it in for you during a jewelry insert appointment, providing it is the appropriate size, shape, and material. I only insert the sterile and implant-grade jewelry I have carefully sourced from my trusted manufacturers into new piercings.

Why are there age limits for piercings?

I am happy that more and more parents are choosing professional body piercers to safely pierce their kids. However, I am not comfortable or experienced with piercing children under the age of eight. I would be happy to refer you to another professional piercer if you would like. As for other age limits, some piercings require a great deal of patience in order to heal. Some have rather uncomfortable piercing and/or healing processes. Some piercings are not ideal for bodies that are still growing. I have used my professional knowledge and experience to set my age limits, others may set theirs differently, but please respect my choices.

What kind of jewelry do you sell?

Currently Wildflower carries a large supply of implant-grade titanium, some implant-grade niobium pieces, as well as a small collection of 14 & 18 karat solid gold. All jewelry is nickel-free and new pieces are added regularly. I am always happy to custom order pieces for you from one of my many distributors as well. More information about jewelry and custom orders can be found on the jewelry information page.

The piercing I want isn’t listed. Do you do it?

The piercings offered on the booking page are piercings I am completely comfortable offering to everyone (age and anatomy depending) at this time. Some piercings I do not offer because they can cause serious damage to the body, such as horizontal tongue or “snake eyes” piercings. There are some piercings that have very lengthy and complicated healing processes like cheek piercings, so I am not comfortable offering them. There are a few piercings that I currently do not feel I have enough experience with to offer right now.

Microdermals and surface bars (anti-eyebrow, vertical tragus, & horizontal eyebrow piercings are all examples of piercings that are best done with surface bars) are what we call “long term temporary” piercings. While some folks might get lucky and have them for many years, they do generally eventually reject. The truth is, most folks only end up keeping microdermals or surface bar piercings for 1-5 years. Due to their temporary nature, I do not offer microdermal or surface bar piercings, but I am happy to help remove these piercings, change the ends, or perform a check-up on them if you already have them.

Feel free to send me an email and ask about any unlisted piercings you are interested in.

My question isn't here! How can I get in contact?

Email is always the fastest and best way to get in touch with me. Facebook Messenger is often very glitchy, so I do not check it. I try to check Instagram messages regularly. There is also a lot of information here on my website. Directions to the studio, piercing prices and age limits, as well as a ton of aftercare tips and what to do if you have a piercing emergency.
